Seed Faith Giving: Is it biblical

A) Question…… On the subject of seed faith giving, some men erroneously equate the word “seed” mentioned in scripture to exclusively mean that of money, to the neglect of other clear definitions . In Genesis 8:22 the scripture says that as long as Earth remain there will be seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, night and day. These are literal definitions; all other renderings are implicit and thus subjective. If not , what are the spiritual meanings of the rest of this scripture? In the gospel of Luke 8:11 Jesus says that the seed Is the word of God and the ground is the heart. Lastly, 1 Corinthians states that God always supplies seed to the sower. Contextually, this is the only scripture where seed can be rendered to imply money. To apply this particular meaning in the other texts, would be dishonest at best and exploitive at worse. Contrary to popular teaching, there is no biblical teaching that one can plant a financial seed or money, wait/time, and reap a guaranteed money/harvest of thirty, sixty, or hundred fold. To those that do subscribe to such teaching, I sincerely ask, “Have you gotten your hundredfold return, yet?” Has it worked for you like it seemingly has worked for those that teach such doctrine. Howbeit, We are constantly reminded that God is not a respecter of persons! Right?

  1. Hello Bro Tarre,

I see you have started your own blog. Keep it going. There certainly is a need for more of us speaking truth to shine light in darkness because the church to a large extent is in deception. This seed faith doctrine for example is one of the biggest lies that has entered the church. It is a very destructive doctrine not only because it robs the poor of their money but it robs them spiritually also because what happens whey you sow that seed and you do not get the 30, 60 or 100 fold return? It means you begin to doubt God and lack faith but yet God did not promise you this it was promised by man.

One of the fake promises that they will tell you also is that if you pay the tithe you will get the "windows of heaven blessing" but the truth is on Israel was promised that blessing. It is not for the new testament church yet the people sow in vain and they get poorer whilst people like Fred Price get richer and drive around in Rolls Rocye cars.

We need to be a Berean in these times to search the scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

PS: I think there was someone who went by the name Dr Stanley on the old yomisays blog. Was that you?

  2. LOl,unfortunately,I cant claim such title). In fact,I rarely posted, and when I did it was under my real name. I was more-or-less soaking up the powerful apologetics of Yomi and the rest of you guys. BTW, if you are interested, Bro. Yomi has a new site operated under his church`s name. The site is called "pressing for the crown." As always, I appreciate your observations and input, and thanks for dropping by.
